I'm a new subscriber (thanks to my sister in law! Merry Christmas to me!) and I'm wondering about the schedule for monthly mysteries. Is that linked somewhere?
Could you expand anymore on the decision to take the Q&A episodes into subscriber world? I'm sure there are good reasons, but this is a pretty big change. I think, partly because of the long history of the Q&A, that it leaves each book feeling a little unfinished as a listener. If the Q&A was a new feature, would totally get it, but it is a little disappointing to have a much beloved feature pulled back (but to be clear, still love everyone at Close Reads and am still reading along;-)).
I like the slightly lighter reading schedule this year and am excited about the quarterly hangouts! I hope I get to participate since I’m on the West Coast instead of the majority of the Close Readers community on the East Coast.
Did the monthly movie episodes get nixed? I really liked those but they seem to have stopped.
I’m also very intrigued by the secret project and can’t wait to hear more!
I first found Close Reads in 2020 and spent lots of time catching up on episodes. I'm snowed in right now and its bringing back those early days! Looking forward to 2025.
Forever grateful for Close Reads and the community! Really excited for 2025 around here. Can we expect the Mansfield Park episodes to finish this month too?
Thank you for all of the hard work and HOURS you spend on making content. Sometimes I have trouble keeping up with the flagship show, mystery podcast, and the subscriber series episodes and reading. I marvel that you get it all done on top of full time work. I will admit I felt relief at the lighter schedule this year. I also read along with a couple other groups in addition to my own reading projects, so it gives me more breathing room, so to speak. So many good books, so little time. But all the time I spend with Close Reads is time well spent.
The Commonplace Collective has me intrigued and excited. I am looking forward to seeing what this holds.
Thank you for all the work you all do to bring this podcast and community to fruition. It has greatly improved my reading journey and I'm looking forward to many more miles with Close Reads.
Thanks for the schedule, and I'm very excited about the new Commonplace Collective; I've really enjoyed the community-wide Commonplace Book experiences on Jillian Hess's Noted Substack.
To be clear: I would indeed like the opportunity to get to know other CR members. But I am an insufferable grammar pedant, and I couldn’t let that one go. Maybe no one will want to get to know me!

Newbie ignorance corrected! Thanks so much.

Sorry, but I’m not tracking “Betrothed.” Will that start when “Mansfield Park” ends? Thanks!
yep
Thanks

Quarterly zoom hangouts—I’m excited!!
Seriously? No more hints about the super secret upcoming project?
Glad you’re feeling better!
Ok one clue. English lit.

Yes. We will have a new episode soon. Being sick kind of set us back on that.
I am absolutely jazzed for the next episode! I finished MP before Christmas. So good, so grand!
I'm really excited for the rest of the discussions too. It'd been years since I last read it and I have so much more appreciation for it now!
Totally get it. Glad you're coming out of the fog!

“Who wouldn’t want to get to know it’s members?”
I’m going to chalk that up to your sinus gunk and wish you a speedy recovery 😂

That’s a colloquialism
“It’s” vs “its”?
Upon closer inspection, I see there *are* tiers available. My mistake. I'll be over here celebrating my regained access. 😅😁
