Listen now (26 mins) | If you’re a longtime listener of this podcast, you know that Sean Johnson has recently joined our crew to help give Tim some time off here and there (what with Tim’s new job and growing family). Of course, Sean is a worthy contributor all in his own right. But we didn’t know that right away. At first, he was just one of many interviewees we considered (#230 to be precise). And although it took some time to get aligned on some key metrics, we feel really good about his role on our show now.
There is NOTHING better than committing to the bit, bravo to you ALL
The Wendell Berry inquisition had me laughing tears!
I'm tracking my brain for instances of David talking about food. I think you asked Heidi what she would serve Cormack McCarthy during an All the Pretty Horses episode.
Why didn't Sean have to rank anything or talk about the craft of a passage??? I think you need to redo it. It's an oversight and now we have an interloper on the show. Tim, I think you gave up too quickly.
I think we all need to hear Heidi's interview. Just to make sure there's no mission drift.
Whoever wrote the script 👌
And I love the photo; it's like an album cover for Crosby, Stills, and Nash, trying to decide if they want Young.
The photo is so good 😂😂
This is a riot. You guys were clearly having too much fun. 🤣
Good boy. 🤣
This was the best. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. Thank you!
😂😂😂 y’all this is so great, thank you! Love Sean and and love Tim - and the whole crew!
I cannot believe I got all these inside jokes and enjoyed them. This is the test of a dedicated Close Reads listener!
The only thing that could have made that episode more funny is if you could have worked in a snake draft! Well done all!
Where can I back the sitcom pilot?
The best part was how much fun you were all obviously having. Very grateful you put your time together to such excellent use.
This is hilarious! Though I am personally disappointed that Sean uses only 11 kinds of cheese for his grilled cheese.
I was in need of that of nerdy humor. Also I now want a grilled cheese.
That was amazing. Tim is a comic genius!
