Not fair to pit "To Kill a Mockingbird" against "TLOTR." Despite the latter probably being my favorite movie (along with the other two in the series), I voted for "Mockingbird." So good!
This did not go the way I thought it would. Prisoner of Azkaban definitely made it farther than I expected.
As for My Fair Lady, I voted for it in earlier rounds because the episodes we did on it and the audiobook version I listened to proved that trying to be Higgins, Eliza, Pickering, or even Mrs. Pierce is really hard and Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn did very well. There's my two cents. Buy yourself an ice cream cone.
I think a part of the problem is that people are voting which movie they like more, not necessarily which movie was the best adaptation of the book. My two cents!
So either it’s anarchy and we all vote what we’re feeling and it’s Lord of the Flies voting or we have clear parameters, no creativity or some of us still ignore the parameters....I guess that is the third option 😂😂
The results are rather shocking to me, but I guess they shouldn't really be with all of the Jane Austen fanatics. But I just can't see how some of these movies beat out pretty phenomenal iconic movies. I must not be watching the same movies...🤣 At this point I am pulling for Little Women and Fellowship of the Ring.
The therapy I need because of this bracket!!

Maybe do the worst book adaptations next...?
When I asked my son to choose HP or Little Women he just looked at me and said-"HP, mom, that's a no brainier!" 😂 For me...struggle bus!

Does Anne have to win every.single.year?? Maybe leave her out next year. ;)
Also Pride and Prejudice?!
True!!
“Basically about the same thing” 😂 I heard once that P&P was Austen’s take on Beatrice and Benedict, so that makes sense
I don’t know how to choose between them. I love them both so much.
Two of my favorites, and one day I realized, oh this is kind of the same story haha

But also Tim said “Anna Karenina was the best adaptation because it didn’t even try to be the book.” So perhaps we needed some more clear parameters 😂
But no clear parameters is part of the fun of the bracket 🤣

I really loved that Little Women (more than the book).
Whispers... it's a lovable but slightly flawed book... (that everyone should read).
I totally agree. I hesitated watching it and then ended up absolutely loving it.
