And so we’ve come to the end—and for all the hand-wringing along the way at least three of the final four entries are unsurprising (and the fourth isn’t a major surprise). Here’s the final four: Pride and Prejudice (1995), Little Women (2019), The Fellowship of the Ring
I am new to “the conversation” as it’s fondly called on the podcasts, and have thoroughly enjoyed this saga. I just recently listened to the Anne episodes and am happy to see it in the final four, even though it’s definitely just nostalgia talking😄
Also, random, and maybe not the place for it, but I would love the close readers’ opinion on the movie Arrival. I just rewatched it and have been really moved each time I’ve seen it, and the themes of language and choice and suffering, or duty and desire I suppose, make for an interesting discussion.
I feel like the 1995 P&P and the AOGG were the sentimental finalists. And I love both of them! Both I feel like LW 2019 is the one that truly deserves to be here.
I love all of these movies, really I do, but I greatly underestimated how strong nostalgia pulls. This is going to come down to which movie has the greater fan-base.

Looks like a lot of women are the voters! Looks NOTHING like David, Sean, and Tim’s ideal final choices! 😂💃🏻
Sentimental voting at its finest!!
These 4 are the worst to pick from... they are all so good!
This has been so much fun. Thank you for sparking great conversations with my kids. We agonized over the choices today and defended our favorites. :)
The Muppet Christmas Carol is so underrated!! Definitely voted for it over FOTR, which is great as a movie but only decent as an adaptation imo
David sounds defeated.
This has been so much fun. Thanks for putting it all together David!

This has been nail biting fun. So many times I wanted to vote both movies in a category
The final round is going to be tough.

It’s David’s fault for not establishing strict criteria.
Eh, no one actually wants strict criteria (in my experience).
You’re right, but this is what happens.
I do think the final four is defensible
So sad about To Kill A mockingbird. 😩😩😩
Well I think I’m glad that’s over. Haha. All four of those are great so I’m happy. Honestly though, I was kinda hoping the Muppets would just sweep.
