Karen mentioned that Roman Polanski’s adaptation of Tess was the film version she recommended. I found the BBC video from 2009 on BritBox, and it was an excellent adaption of the novel. There are four episodes, but on BritBox it ended on Episode 3. I was confused why, but I was able to get the DVD from my library and watch the final episode. I then watched about an hour of Polanski’s film, and I think the BBC version was much better. I highly recommend it.
