FWI: Why did Katharine Hepburn's head shake? A. Katharine Hepburn's ailment, recently discussed on television by her niece Katharine Houghton, was not Parkinson's disease, but a progressive yet treatable neurological disorder called essential tremor.
This morning I finished your discussion on Everything Sad is Untrue. I’d like to take exception with the comment that Sean made about Heidi’s reading. I can’t quote it any longer, but you made some distinction between her methods of reading, which implied that when she read with her eyes that was reading, but when she read with her ears, it wasn’t. Reading is reading! For millennium all reading was done orally, because that was the only form of transmission we had. I’m thrilled we have options today!
Heidi, you should feel free to speak at whatever pace is most comfortable for you. Personally, I’ve always liked the way you speak carefully and deliberately and never felt it was too slow. Your insights are brilliant and helpful at any speed!
I listened to your discussion of Everything Sad is Untrue, because I like the book. It was a pleasure to hear you talk about it. I hosted my bookclub ages 15 to 34 last week. I asked Daniel Nayeri if he would like to join us. He graciously zoomed in and we had wonderful conversation. Like Heidi, I think of him as a personal friend and I want to have tea with him. Maybe someday. His story is both personal and universal. Thank you for your discussion and insight.
Had to comment on listening speed. I listen to most everything at 2 speed. David does not talk too fast. Ben Shapiro talks fast and he can be a struggle at 2 speed. This was my favorite book I read last year and it was great to read it again. Can’t wait to hear Daniel. I have 2 daughters that read this book and listened to this podcast and they are just as excited about the book.
Oops! FYI

I haven't read The Ungrateful Refugee, but A Teaspoon of Earth and Sea is beautifully written.
Please don't listen to the bad reviews. This podcast is awesome! I listen to my audio books fast but Heidi, I can understand you great

I was feeling very rant-y last week, so thanks for representing us poor similarly judgmentally inclined folks Sean ✊🏼😔
(I also love Katharine Hepburn!)
Heidi, don’t speak more quickly and don’t read reviews (especially all the ones Sean wrote) 💛
