Sean made two excellent jokes this episode I’d like to commend him for - he referenced the milkshake from There Will be Blood and “vote early and vote often” 😂
Hi! As one Rose to another… my friend loves the 2020 version and I love the 1996. I feel the need to defend it by saying that the reason I love the ‘96 is from the interior processing (from Gwyneth Paltrow) we get that gives us insight into Emma’s character and reasoning. On the other side, Anya Taylor-Joy communicates her (Emma’s) thoughts with a flick of the eyebrow… and she’s a master at that. It’s probably a matter of preference? And also. I adore the ‘96 Miss Bates because she won’t SHUT UP. I feel like that’s true to the book. However. I love the soundtrack to the 2020 version so much… we even used ‘Mr. Turner’s Waltz’ at my daughter’s wedding.
Tinker Tailor was a tough one- I've not seen either. Love the actors in the 2011 but.....1979 is BBC! Had to go BBC. For those who have seen it, which did you enjoy and why?
Yesss!! I was so disappointed with the 90s one, and I only got through about 30 seconds of the musical. I'm sorry, I just can't do musical Les Miserables.
There is another adaptation that I love, but it is French and set during WWII. Characters are reading the book while their lives mirror the lives of the characters. While not a literal translation, it captures the spirit of the book wonderfully. I own three different adaptations. 🤣 I couldn’t find a French only or French/English copy so I have one with Spanish Subtitles.
OOo... I have to go see. I can't remember if I've seen that one. Maybe I should say the Liam one is better than the Hathaway one. But maybe they shouldn't be compared since the Hathaway one is the musical - it's its own thing. I just remember stumbling across the Liam one and thinking: WHY was this not more heavily advertised when it was made?? - I think I HAVE seen the BBC one and I remember thinking - oh, because it's a series they are able to add more of the book in it - going to watch again and see, thanks!

I love this idea!
I’m dying to know what’s controversial about the original Mary Poppins movie!
It's offensive to everyone that can't afford a Jolly Holiday.
bahaha
Same! And my husband asked the question too as we we were taking the poll together.😆
I loved the new Emma adaptation, I’m super surprised it’s not in the lead.
Johnny Flynn is such a great Knightly!
The 2020 version is really the only adaptation where I'm not a little weirded out by their relationship

They’re quite different. BBC version was one of the first great series. The movie definitely replicates the feel of the book though.
I really enjoyed the 2020 Emma but I gotta go with Nostalgia and vote for my childhood fav!
Thank you!! I wasn’t expecting this and it came at the perfect time.
This is sooo fun!
LOVE this March Madness. THANK YOU
Accidentally picked Bridget Jones immediately. I do like that tremendously, but also One Flow Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is🔥🔥🔥
I don’t know which I really think. Happy for either to move on.
No 2009????

How many Emma’s do you need to have in there lol
Only the 2009. Duh
2009 Emma is by far the best, followed by Clueless.
Or all.
Emma 2020 for life! I’m disappointed it’s not winning 😭
It was on our shortlist to watch tonight--for about the third time.
The Emma play in question better be for which one gets to matchup with the Ramola Garay BBC version
here here!
Right outta the gate and you make me chose between the Emma's?!? Grrrr....
There is a clear answer to this one haha
I may have voted like a saboteur
AND!! I just want to point out that the BETTER adaptation of Les Mis is the Liam Neesan and Uma Thurman one!
I will have to disagree. The 2018 BBC production was the best adaptation of Les Miserables.

But the BBC one was really, really good.
