I need help getting the bonus episodes on my podcast app. I recently changed podcast apps after subscribing and now I can't figure out where to paste the URL given on the setup page. I can't even find the Close Reads Bonus icon on my app. Please help. Thanks.
Close Reads subscription feed continues knocking it out of the park with this next selection. So much duty, so much desire! AND SO MUCH MEDIEVAL STUFF!
I am subscribed at $8/month but am confused as to how much content that covers. Why am I getting notices Upgrade to paid when I already pay? Please explain.
I’m excited for KL! I’ve read through the first two books once before, but stopped there. I’m looking forward to reading along and completing them this time! I’m still hoping to read Lonesome Dove again someday though (hint, hint...).
BTW, I have been thoroughly enjoying the Ransom trilogy along with Close Reads. This was my first time reading them and they are fabulous, as are the CR episodes. 🙂
Yay!!! I am so excited for Kristin Lavransdatter. This has been on my TBR for so many years and I've been hoping we would do a Close Reads on this. The timing is absolutely perfect! 🥰
This all looks exciting, but obviously, I'm here grinning ear to ear that it's finally time for Kristin Lavransdatter! This will be my third time through, I think, and every time hits a little bit different as I move through the years as wife and mother. So ready!
The KL announcement made my day. This is my heart book (possibly my husband’s too). I love seeing other close-readers excited for it! CAN’T WAIT. A friend’s friends have said it saved their marriage.
I’m curious now, with all the outpouring of love for this book, if when I read it I was just not in the right “season” for it. I was in my pregnancy/newborn phase and with other little ones. I wonder if I will appreciate it more, now?
Bethany tells me that this series is one that you have to read to the end. Like you have to finish it to get the redemptive arc. So I hope people stick with it!
So many fun updates, so little time 😊 I’ve been wanting to reread Kristin for some time, but know the length of it means it’s going to be a commitment--maybe this is just the push I need ☺️
I read The Wreath (book 1) several years ago and never managed to read the others. This might be the excuse I need!

I don't have class tonight so I can actually join the poetry reading... did you send out an email with the Zoom link yet?

Dear Close Reads staff,

the GASP I GASPED when I saw we're doing Kristin!!!!!!!!
I’ll also post this link because I love this man’s take on reading this book. https://catholicgentleman.com/2015/02/kristin-lavransdatter-nordic-medieval-catholic-heart/
Yes!! Finally Kristin has her turn at Close Reads! It is such a great fall/winter read and an absolute heart book of mine. I hope you all love it!
I began KL years ago but lost interest around book 2. I told myself I would pick it up again when I had time to spare, but it was smug excuse.
I know this book is great. The writing, use of symbols, depth, etc. are phenomenal. I’m counting on you all to teach me love it!
I surely do not have the time for this it but since all the cool kids are doing it...
The middle part of Book 2 is my favorite!!!! :D
