The Moviegoer Reading Schedule Is Here!
Hey Close Readers!
Here we go, on to another book: The Moviegoer by the great Walker Percy, a book that has confounded, bemused, and inspired readers since its publication in 1961.
Percy was one of the great Catholic novelists of the twentieth century—actually, check that, he was one of the great novelists of the century full-stop—and this is his debut. I can’t wait to chat about this book with you all. It’s one of the more discussable novels I’ve ever read and I think the CR community will have a grand time with it. Even if you don’t like it, you’ll have things to say. If you still need to get a copy you can do so here at the Goldberry Books page.
So here we go: here’s the schedule.
Episode 1: Part 1*
Episode 2: Part 2
Episode 3: Part 3
Episode 4: Part 4
Episode 5: Part 5 + Epilogue
Episode 6: Q&A
*Please note that part one is 60 pages, depending on the edition, but there just wasn’t a good natural breaking point earlier in the book.
Happy reading!
